I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. -Galatians 2:20
My Favorite Person: I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior at the tender age of 8 years old. Although I typically fail at it, my aim in life is to be like Him. He is my Lord, my God, my favorite Person of all time.
My Favorite People: I married the love of my life in the year 2000. I am so blessed to experience life with Heather Kuykendall. Her sacrifice, support, and affection are more than I deserve. We have made three beautiful sons together. Our twins, Brady and Drew were born in 2002 and have brought us so much joy. Carson, our youngest was born in 2006. He made our family complete. These are my favorite people on earth.
My Favorite Place: Cross Roads Baptist Church is where I serve as pastor. The Lord directed my family to this wonderful church in 2008. God has done so much for me and my people since that time. There is not enough room on this page to tell you of His bountiful blessings upon our congregation.
My Favorite Practice: I love to read, study, preach and write (probably in that order). Along with my pastoral obligations I am also privileged to speak in several meetings throughout the year. Our publications ministry and devotional ministry affords me the opportunity to put these practices into written form.
My Favorite Passage: My life verse is from Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me.” I can’t even type that out without becoming overwhelmed by the power of faith.
My Favorite Plate: My wife cooks my favorite meal on special occassions: Sauerkraut and smoked weenies, fried potatoes, pinto beans, sliced tomotoes, and cornbread with butter. Can I get a witness?
My Favorite Preacher: I have many friends in the ministry who I consider awesome men of God. But my favorite preacher was my grandfather, Joe Hicks. Third-grade education, son of a share-cropper, pastor of forty years, singing the praises now in heaven, had the power of God in an unsual way.
My Favorite Programs: Sad to see if go off the air, but The Office is my all-time favorite show (you had to know there was a carnal side to me). Coming in near or at the top are: Lost, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Andy Griffeth Show. Yes, all I watch are re-runs.
My Favorite Pit-stop: If I had to choose a restaurant for my last meal I believe it would be between Fogo de Chao in Buckhead, and Angelo’s Steak House in Panama City.
My Favorite Past-time: Spending time with my family is by far my favorite past-time. I cherish every moment I have with them.
My Favorite Pinman: I have a lot of favorite authors (many of them are dead), but A.W. Tozer and his writings helped my pursue a deeper relationship with the Lord in my early life. His classic, The Pursuit of God (especially Chapter 2, The Blessedness of Possessing Nothing) captivated my heart for God.
My Favorite Path: Wherever the Lord takes me. I have come to realize my contentment is only in Christ. I want to be wherever He is.
I would list a few more “favorites” but I have exhausted all the P’s in my vocabularyPastor Kenny Kuykendall
